Zac Efron and “That Awkward Moment” costars, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller made an appearance on TODAY on Jan. 21. Wetpaint reported on Jan. 21 that Efron was anything but awkward as he and the others discussed their upcoming movie.
When TODAY host Savannah Guthrie brought the subject around to the 26-year-old’s recent stint in rehab, though, things were a bit less than light-hearted. Efron sought rehab twice during 2013 for an alleged drug addiction.
She asked how life has been since rehab, to which the actor replied, “I’m in the best place I’ve ever been. I’ve never been this happy before.”
He nodded at both of his cast mates before continuing. He said he was “extraordinarily grateful” to the two young men and he was happy to be able to be there to promote their movie together. He later said =Jordan and Teller were “the best young actors I’ve ever worked with.”
Efron remained cool and composed in spite of the touchy subject. He even thanked Guthrie for her concern and for asking about his recovery.
Judging by his appearance on the show, his broken jaw has healed well and he seemed to be healthy and content. Hopefully 2014 will be a better year for the former Disney star.
