It's always a thrill to run into old friends - especially ones making themselves a name in Japan and making splashes throughout the world in music industry. Yuma Yamaguchi was a music major in University of WI, Superior and a friend to me and many others I knew. All I knew of him back then was - he's Japanese and plays piano better than most people I knew. I'd learned Phantasie Impromptu by Chopin after hearing him play it.
It was a pleasure to be remembered, of course. Yuma hopes to be recognized in the US, too, and hopefully a local station and maybe soon major ones will get wind of his music, too. I heard it - it's actually very catchy, reminded me a bit of some very rhythmic songs from 80s artists, Daft Punk for example. It is electrifying and makes ya wanna dance.
Yuma hasn't forgotten his roots. A certain Mr Eric R from UWS, a mutual friend, who's now a TV shows' and movies' cinematographer has helped Yuma with a video and, well, sky's the limit, eh. Read more on Yuma's biography here.
Good luck to you, buddy!
