If you've been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you probably know about the tasty items (fish and chips is my favorite), sweet treats (strawberry peanut butter ice cream...mmmm!), and beverages like pumpkin juice and Butterbeer that you can get there.

Diagon Alley will have some of those items (after all, it wouldn't be a proper Harry Potter-themed place without Butterbeer), but it will add a whole host of tasty new foods and beverages. Click the slideshow to see some of them, and get your taste buds ready to feast on the following edibles at the Leaky Cauldron:

  • Bangers and Mash (traditional roasted sausages with creamy mashed potatoes)
  • Toad in the Hole (traditional sausage baked into a Yorkshire pudding and served with onion gravy)
  • Cottage Pie (savory combination of meat and vegetables in a potato crust)
  • Fisherman’s Pie (salmon, shrimp and cod baked together under a potato crust)
  • Beef, Lamb & Guinness Stew in a bread bowl)
  • Ploughman’s (a feast of English cheeses, crusty bread, cornichon pickles, apple beet salad, Branston pickle and a Scotch egg
  • Split Pea Soup
  • Banger Pub Style Sandwich
  • Fish and Chips

Got a sweet tooth? Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream will offer the following flavors that will go down nice and cool during the hot summer ahead:

  • Granny Smith (pictured)
  • Early Grey and Lavender
  • Chocolate Chili
  • Clotted Cream
  • Apple Crumble
  • Sticky Toffee Pudding
  • Salted Caramel Blondie
  • Chocolate and Raspberry
  • Strawberry and Peanut-Butter
  • Orange Marmalade
  • Butterbeer (yay!)

In addition to the old Butterbeer and pumpkin juice favorites, here are some new beverages you can indulge in at Diagon Alley:

  • Fishy Green Ale (don't be scared off by the name)
  • Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice
  • Tongue Tying Lemon Squash
  • Peachtree Fizzing Tea
  • Wizard’s Brew (draught beer)
  • Dragon Scale (draught beer)
  • Gillywater

While many of the items are straight out of the books, some took a little imagination on Universal's part, since there's no mention of an extensive menu for the Leaky Cauldron. Thus, the dishes are all typical British pub fare, which fits in nicely with the London theme.

The official Diagon Alley opening date hasn't been announced yet, but the media preview is June 17 to 20, with vacation packages starting on June 29. That means that muggles will be welcome into the new area very soon.
