If your Bible talks to you then you may be listening to the 'Bible' app by YouVersion.
The app was created by Pastor Bobby Gruenewald as a way to get more people engaged in Bible reading. The app offers reminders, daily verses as well as a wide variety of Bible reading plans.
Gruenewald, initially hoped the app would reach 80,000 downloads over a six month period, but the"Bible" app by YouVersion surpassed that number over the very first weekend it was released. Since then the popularity of the app has taken off. In July of 2013 "Bible" app by YouVersion set a milestone by hitting a mind blowing 100 million downloads and counting putting it on the level with Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
The popularity of the app is tied to its simplicity of use and availability for download on any device like a Smartphone,a Kindle, or tablet. According to the YouVersion website, "tens of millions of people are using the Bible App to make God's Word a part of their daily lives"
One of the favorite parts of the "Bible" app by YouVersion is the Bible reading plans.
