YouTube.com increases video length to 15 minutes from 10 minutes
Everybody knows if you want to upload a video to YouTube.com, you'd better keep it under 10 minutes or risk being bonged or rejected.
Thankfully -- at least for the good videos, that's a good thing -- YouTube has just announced via their blog that users can now uploaded videos that are up to 15 minutes long.
People who've already tried to upload videos over 10 minutes long and were rejected in the past must resubmit those videos to get them posted online.
YouTube also introduced a new "15 Minutes of Fame" contest with the announcement.
"Tag your video with yt15minutes, upload it by Wednesday, August 4, and we’ll select a handful of people to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight."
That's a major coup for whomever has their YouTube videos uploaded.

It may take only minutes for the video to go live. And if your YouTube Channel becomes popular enough, they'll contact you about monetizing the channel.
That's what happened to my husband -- but then they rejected his video because of the background music. And yet, it is still up and continues to get views.
