YouTube as a Film Resource

Everyone knows how influential YouTube has become. Anyone can upload their own videos, share videos, leave comments, make profiles, promote themselves, express themselves, show their work, bash others...there seems to be no limit.

However, though most film students share their work on either YouTube or Vimeo, it does not have a very strong reputation as a film resource.

But that's not entirely true.

Though there are a lot (a strong majority) of videos that are not "film" associated, it is still a great tool. YouTube houses trailors, teasers, full shorts, clips from films, etc etc etc.

If you are looking for an example, of an idea, there are tons of films posted on YouTube. Some users even post films in parts.

This is not only a great tool for any film enthusiasts, but also specificaly Hempstead residents. Hempstead is the home of Hofstra University. This means that tons and tons of Hofstra students post their film work to YouTube. Searching for Hofstra film work on YouTube is a great way to stay connected not only to film, but also with what is going on locally around you.
