Your Sister’s Sister starring rising talent Emily Blunt, will kick off this year’s Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). The romantic-comedy was locally produced and shot by director (and Seattle native) Lynn Shelton.
Your Sister’s Sister has been slowly gaining speed at film festivals around the industry, including currently making its run at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The film is set to screen during the opening night gala at SIFF on May 17th, marking “the first local-based filmmaker in 38 years to open the Seattle International Film Festival” according to SIFF Artistic Director Carl Spence.
SIFF runs from May 17th through June 10. For venue and ticket information about SIFF and the opening gala, visit www.siff.net.
Your Sister’s Sister
About the film: “Stuck in a deep personal rut a year after the death of his brother Tom, Jack (Duplass) accepts an invitation from his best friend, Iris (Emily Blunt), to spend a week alone at her family's remote vacation home so he can be alone to get himself back together. Jack unexpectedly finds Iris' sister Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt) there for similar purposes, and the two quickly get to know each other over an evening of tequila. When Iris arrives unannounced the next morning, it sets off a chain reaction of revelations and shifting dynamics” (siff.net).
