Happy New Year....2013 is here, it's now a time to start thinking about a fresh start, and allow ourselves to feel the anticipation of what this New Year will bring. Signaling that time for us all to consider living a bit differently, with the changes we'll make by planning our new year resolutions. While the steaming celebrity social media came to a rise in 2012, with Kim Kardashian, LeAnn Rimes, Ice T's Coco and Rihanna all competed for the most scandalous star of social media title.
You on the other hand you aren't a celebrity, so let's start with your 1st Resolution:
It was hard not to notice you grabbing your iphone after the 'Time Square Ball' fell, so how about vowing to use that cell a bit differently this year. Like putting the phone away, look at yourself, you can barely get through a meal because you're spending more time being in the ozone's, instead of being present at meal, participating in a mutual conversation in the real world rather than the digital one. Realize that your relationships suffer from the digital interruptions especiallly when using your phone as a crutch in certain social situations.
Try even enjoying a movie without checking that thing for a new e-mail, Tweet or Pinterest, Facebook message. Theater chains have spent a fortune producing video shorts reprimanding people like you in the middle of aisle 5 blinding people with your cell. Just because you're are addicted to checking that devices. Some of you can't get thru the Lord's prayer, in church on Sunday, without your gadget ding-a-ling-ing. All because your not
more mindful of how and when you use it. It's hard not to laugh when those things get elbowed out of their hands and gets stomped on when it hits the floor, hey...sorry..just doing the work of the Lord.
It's simple when its appropriate respond to the emails that matter, later on a pc, if it's necesssary to contact people with an issue about you ignoring their personal email. That doesn't mean doing rapid fire im on a cell when your driving. Also resolve in 2013 limiting your time procrastinating and messing around on Facebook, Twitter and other sites. Save your knock knock jokes for when see your friends in person, also your sole purpose in
life doesn't have to be sharing every video. Oh yeah its tempting, 'Mariah Carey's' images of her babies 'Moroccan and Monroe', and you want to share photo happy 'Victoria Beckham' with her mini me baby son 'Harper', and of course you had to follow new moms 'Hilary Duff' and 'Jessica Simpson' who proudly put up tons of super cute snaps of their babies, 'Luca Comrie and Maxwell Drew Johnson'. Listen nobody saying you have to give up having fun on the internet; just resolve to make more time to communicate online and in real life with the people that matter to you most .
Your 2nd Resolution: Rebooting yourself in the New Year pledge to make some of the usual resolutions, like eating healthier, and to work out more.
Your 3rd Resolution: Be wiser about saving and spending your money including reducing commitments by paying delinquent debts.
Your 4th Resolution: Unprocrastinate, and deal with the most important things in your life by clearing a mental shelf in your life.
Your 5th Resolution: Explore and enjoy your favorite work you love, by realizing that you’re good enough by not only emotinally helping yourself but others as well.
Your 6th Resolution: Value your personal time instead of worrying over money woes, and get more sleep.
Your 7th Resolution: Don’t just wish things were different, make them different! Only you can make the necessary changes in your life, some changes will stick, others won’t. Because they just not right for you. So do one of the other changes instead. After all some changes you won’t need to do every day only need once every few months.
All of us may have commemorated the end of a truly unforgettable year, but now it's time to welcome this, an even better year. Cheers to Your Resolution's in 2013!
