BRIC is extending a invite for New York creatives to join them for what is expected to be known as Brooklyn's new home for artists alike, the BRIC house. BRIC started as a non-profit organization in 1979, as a platform dedicated to local Brooklyn residents involved in various media, including: musicians, artists and performers by offering low cost media services and programs. As well, BRIC is behind the annual anticipated Brooklyn summer festival, Celebrate Brooklyn.
BRIC reaches over 1 million people every year in contemporary, performing arts and community media in Brooklyn and is now proud to introduce, BRIC House, "a multidisciplinary arts and media center to support artists and engage the public", designed by Leeser Architecture. BRIC house will help fulfill their missions by partnering with New York schools and offering classroom space to expand their education program, as well as, offering Brooklyn residents, local community artists and musicians free drop-in programming for all ages, "the stoop", an all-new public cultural gathering space, flexible performance space and artist studios, 3,000 square-foot gallery, a state of the art public television access center and more.
BRIC offers a diverse range of memberships to cater to students, families and individuals alike to take full advantage of the many benefits and services they have to offer. BRIC house officially opens on October 3rd with free performances by Burning Spear and OneBeat. Tickets for this event will be distributed on Thursday, September 26 from 6-7pm at BRIC House located at 647 Fulton Street will facility hours open daily from 8AM until 10PM.
