Pet owners in and around the Tri-Cities could just have a future star on their hands! Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, is seeking two dogs for their big summer musical, "Legally Blonde." The dogs need to be well-behaved and have some basic training, but they do not have to be the exact breeds featured in the movie of the same name. Extra tricks are great, too!
You probably remember Reece Witherspoon playing Elle Woods, carrying her little chihuahua, Bruiser, in her purse. The role of Bruiser will not necessarily be a chihuahua, so other smaller dogs can audition. The role of Rufus, which was played by a stocky bulldog in the movie, will be cast by a larger dog, again not necessarily the same breed.
Auditions will be held on March 24 from 10am-12pm on the Barter Stage with sign-ins at 9:45. They ask that the owners of future canine celebrities contact then in advance so that they can know how many to expect. Contact:
