Amazing how many people want to make money off of one dead musician.
if you think examiners make much money, get real. but isn't it amazing how many people want to read about late, gifted musicians? such joy ...
Steve, you forgot to mention the John Lennon Time Capsule, which will be installed October 8 at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as in Liverpool and Reykjavik. I'd say that was pretty big 8^)
Thanks, Patti. :)
Steve, you are an inspiration! Thanks for such a well-researched, definitive article. You prove why online journalism can best old-school media, with humor and hard work.
Thank you!
Steve, EXCELLENT and THOROUGH job. I still remember where I was when I found out Lennon had been shot - I was on McAllister St. in San Francisco. I'd been enjoying his new album with Yoko in previous months and the song "Starting Over" or "Watching the Wheels" was constantly running in my head. Those were the days of LPs and record players. When John died I felt that I'd lost a family member -- we all did. Years later, I'd move to the Upper West Side of New York, not too far from the Dakota. I walked through Central Park several times a week and upon occasions when I'd see the stone tribute to him, I'd pause and remember his greatness.
Shame on the anonymous person who said you were just making money off a dead musician! (Pls delete that comment!) - You have done your readers a tremendous service, and you aren't rewarded handsomely enough.
Now that said, I imagine that we should all let it be as we remember a great man. I am glad to be old enough to remember his life.
Thank you very very much, Laurie, for your comment. :)
