Young racecar fans are in for a real treat at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Walt Disney World Speedway. Junior racers can pick from two full-size custom character cars from Disney/Pixar’s animated movie “Cars.” The new Piston Cup Junior Ride-Along program is for kids 6 to 13 years old (and at least 48 inches).

Choose from #28 Aiken Axler and #80 Sage VanDerSpin for real-life racing excitement riding shotgun with a professional driving instructor. The 600HP, custom cars have a window wrap that allows racers to see the character’s eyes on the outside while allowing a clear view from the inside. Each racecar, like other junior ride-alongs, has a specially created seat by The Joie of Seating so younger children are safe.

Kids suit up in racing coveralls to protect them against any parts of the car that have gotten too hot in Florida’s sun. Like a real racer, a soft knitted cap is worn under their racing helmet and a head and neck support (HANS) is attached for even more protection.

All riders must wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Junior Ride-Alongs are $62.84 on a first-come first-served basis between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for either a Pixar “Cars” experience, or a ride in a NASCAR stock car.

Of course, parents can have their own fun driving or riding in a high speed stock car, or dream big by driving one of the world’s most exclusive autos, like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi or Porsche. For more information, click here.
