The eight-month-old pup who attacked a child in Bakersfield, Calif., in mid-May, was euthanized over the weekend, reported TMZ News.
According to the Bakersfield Animal Control, the young dog, described as a Lab/chow mix, continued to display aggressive behavior during the 10 days that he was impounded.
Home video surveillance cameras captured the terrifying incident outside of the home of the Triantafilo family; the family's son was riding on his bicycle when the dog walked behind a parked SUV and viciously attacked the child. Before the child sustained more serious injuries, the family's cat, "Tara," boldly raced directly at the attacking dog, who ran away.
The young dog, named "Scrappy," belonged to a neighbor - he had escaped through an open gate just before attacking the little boy.
