Today Variety is reporting that 13 year-old actor David Mazouz has been cast as young Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Fox series Gotham. Auditions for additional roles are underway in Los Angeles. The show will explore the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham City famous. The project was under development for over a year before being given a direct-to-series order by the network, which won an intense bidding war for the Warner Bros. Television rights to the show. Gotham begins filming in New York on March 20, 2014.

In December, 2013 reported that casting calls had gone out for the role of a young version of Bruce Wayne, and now it has been officially announced that the role has been filled by Mazouz. The actor is best known for playing Jake Bohm on the Fox Network series Touch. Other credits include playing Hudson Rivers in the television movie Dear Dumb Diary, and starring opposite Lou Diamond Phillips and Malcolm McDowell in the feature film Sanitarium. Mazouz has two films in post-production - Universal Pictures' Incarnate, and the indie film The Games Maker.

David Mazouz is repped by Wendi Green and Jennifer Millar of Paradigm for theatrical, Mark Quinn and Jeremy Apody of Abrams Artists Agency for voice and commercial, Managers are Jeff Morrone and Brad Pence of Intellectual Artists Management.
