A young boy from Greene, Maine, was killed when his father accidentally ran over him with a snow plow Wednesday. According to a March 21 report on NY Daily News , the 6-year-old boy, Nathan Capponi, was playing on his scooter shortly before 7 a.m. while his father was clearing snow from the driveway. When Kevin Capponi backed up the truck, he did not see his son.
There was a short post on the Kevin Capponi Facebook page, according to IBTimes:
“Please forgive me and my family ... I love him with all my heart ... it is now broken,”
Kevin Capponi’s Facebook page was inundated with people expressing sympathy and assuring the family of their continued support.
Nathan Capponi was taken immediately to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. This is such a tragedy in this family and community, but sadly it is a common occurrence around the country. The grief of losing a child is compounded by guilt because of the accident that caused the child’s death.
Maine had been hard hit by a New England snowstorm that dumped up to 15 inches on parts of the state.
