On Saturday, March 16th, Mr. Brandon Wood hosted a photo and autograph session to raise money for the ChuckSTRONG Foundation. Mr. Wood chose to hold the ChuckSTRONG fundraiser as his Black Belt Community Service Project in remembrance of his Grandmother who died of cancer. If you are interested in helping Mr. Wood in his efforts, please read on, it isn't too late!
The event was held at Pilsung ATA Martial Arts, in Greenwood, where Mr. Wood trains. Mr. Wood, a local 5th grader, set his sights high as he planned his project. His goal is to raise $1500 for the ChuckSTRONG research fund. To accomplish this mission he arranged to have a Reggie Wayne signed football for raffle and two Colts Cheerleaders for pictures and autographs, free pizza, a bake sale and free lessons for all children who came to the event.
During the event Colts Cheerleaders Allie C. and Kristine A. spoke with visitors, posed for photographs and signed autographs on 2012 Colts Cheerleader Foldout Posters and Personnel Cards. The ladies also got into the martial arts spirit of the event, learning to break boards and sparring with short sticks.
The event was a big success. With donations from Little Caeser's Pizza of pizza, Kroger's providing drinks, Fed-Ex purchasing the Reggie Wayne football, and Judy Hoeping of Tomorrow Realty along side Van Deman Builders sponsoring the Cheerleaders, Mr. Wood was able to raise $850 in just a few hours.
The fundraising is not done yet! Mr. Wood still has ChuckSTRONG bracelets and autographed posters that Allie and Kristine were gracious enough to leave for him and he hopes to use these remaining items to reach his $1500 goal.
