In news just out about "The Young and the Restless," the role of Adam Newman that was played by Michael Muhney will be reprised...by someone else. This is according to a Feb. 25 report by RadarOnline after speaking with a source familiar with the situation.
“There are active auditions going on to replace Michael Muhney’s character as Adam Newman. Producers haven’t found the best actor yet to fill the role. It’s important that the role be filled by someone the audience will grow to love,” the insider revealed.
As viewers have seen on "Y&R" since the character's supposed death in a car crash, Adam Newman is still very much a part of the script. Other characters in Genoa City are struggling with the hit-and-run of a little girl who was killed by Adam.
“There are storylines being written about Adam and the character is central to the show," the source said.
Muhney was fired from "Young and the Restless" last December with his last air date of Jan. 30. He was let go for allegedly groping co-star, Hunter King, on multiple occasions. His departure from the show drew a firestorm of protests from Muhney's strong fanbase.
Will producers find the right actor to fill Michael Muhney's shoes as Adam Newman? The actor who wins the audition will have quite a job ahead of him to win over fans of the old Adam.
