Young adult novel discovery contest through Gotham Writer's Workshop

We have many talented kids in our homeschooling community. One of the talents that seems to attract homeschoolers is writing. Homeschoolers have a unique perspective, they have a lot of time to dream, create stories, and write.

If you have a teen who has written a book, and is looking to get it out into the world, the Gotham Writer's Workshop has a contest running from November 1st until November 30th. Submit the first 250 words of your YA novel, and you may walk away with an opportunity to have your entire manuscript read by young adult (YA) literary agent Regina Brooks and receive a free 10-week writing course from Gotham Writer's Workshop.

This contest is open to anyone 13 years or older. So moms and dads, if you have a young adult fiction book collecting virtual dust on your laptop, send in your 250 words.

You have nothing to lose. There is no entry fee. It is incredibly rare to have a quality writing contest with no entry fee.

November is NaNoWriMo. If you or your teen is writing a YA novel for NaNo, don't miss this opportunity to see if you can be the next Christopher Paolini.
