Young adult fantasy fiction news: 50 new ‘Beautiful Creatures’ photos unveiled

The young adult fantasy fiction “Beautiful Creatures” is about to hit movie theaters in February, and ComingSoon.net revealed 50 new images taken from the film. The entertainment website published the photos on Jan. 18, 2013, giving fans of the book-turned-movie fresh looks at Lena Duchannes, Ethan Wate, and other pivotal characters in the story.

The “Beautiful Creatures” book is a young adult fantasy novel by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. It follows the story of Ethan Wate from the beginning of his sophomore year of high school. He dreams he has about a girl he doesn’t know, which later turns out to be Lena. The story combines both supernatural wonder and teen angst and wound up being a New York Times bestselling book for publisher Little, Brown, and Company. MTV News named it a ‘series to watch.”

True to the book’s themes, the new “Beautiful Creatures” photos retain an element of magic, even when none is necessarily involved. One image of Lena and Ethan standing in what looks to be a park during the summer with flutters of white resembling snow is particularly lovely.

The “Beautiful Creatures” movie opens on Valentine’s Day, 2013 and stars Alice Englert and Alden Ehrenreich.
