Parental favoritism and sibling rivalries are conflicts that many people experience. If you want to attend an eye opening lecture on the subject, plan on going to the book talk for “You Were Always Mom’s Favorite” by Linguistics Professor Deborah Tannen of Georgetown University. It’s open to the public and scheduled for October 5 (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm.
Professor Tannen will discuss her latest book which was recently released in paperback. The discussion will be followed by a reception and book signing. Deborah Tannen is University Professor and Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics. She has published 20 books and over a hundred articles on a range of topics relating to language in everyday life. Her previous book “You’re Wearing THAT?” was a “New York Times” bestseller and examined conversations between mothers and adult daughters.
