My experience with YOU TOO Hair Extensions

Struggling with thin or short hair can be a problem. Hair extensions are always a life saver when your hair is cut too short or it lacks volume. Many brands offer different kinds of hair extensions but the quality is not always the same. I have been using hair extensions for almost 9 years now, and I was actually 15 when I started. So I am somewhat of an expert when it comes to quality, and how to treat them.

There are many types of hair extensions: clip ins, tape ins and glue ins. My favorite are clip in extensions, not only are they convenient, and easy to apply but they do not damage your hair. In my previous post, I warned my readers from using glue in extensions also known as permanent extensions. Glue in extensions damage the hair severely causing hair to fall. As for tape in, they are actually great, but since they are still new, the reviews on their pros and cons are limited.

Before buying a set of extensions, it is important to research to find the perfect brand that provides the length, weight and quality you desire.

YOU TOO extensions are known for their finest 100% Remy Human Clip in Hair Extensions. The thick extensions are the perfect solution for adding volume or length and achieving celebrity styles. the extensions can be cut in or coloured by your stylist or yourself.

My experience with YOU TOO hair extensions:

Customer service is great, they are very responsive, and they helped me pick the color that will be the best match to my hair.

Hair quality is not as described, because I came to find out it not 100% remy hair. Although the hair feels super smooth, but it is striped of its cuticles and may contains high temperature fibers.

The clips hold up to the hair really well, making them easy to apply. They do not slide , so you do not need to tease and spray your hair for the clip to hold well.

The weight is 120 grams, which is enough hair to add volume to a full head. You can always get two sets, if you desire extra volume. Another advantage is the few numbers of wefts. Other brands provide 10 wefts or more, which makes it hard to clip on for those with super thin hair. You too extensions come in 5 thick wefts, making it extremely easy to clip them on in less time. It also allows you to use less wefts and still achieve good volume.

Length is important for those who wish to have longer hair. The length is 20 inches which is quiet long. I like to cut my extensions in different lengths to provide a natural look and to match my hair cut.

There are 10 shades to choose from. I got dark blonde which was lighter than the picture. I assume that blonde colors look darker due to lighting.

My extensions were dark blonde which is the closest match to my hair. It was a little too light compared to my hair, unfortunately, they were a nightmare to color. I took the hair to a hair specialist in Paris, who dyed them for me, and to my surprise the hair would not hold any color as it turned greyish, and developped strands of highlights.

To care for you extensions:

Treat your extensions like your own hair if you want them to last longer. Wash them every few weeks with shampoo and make sure to use conditioner. Applying a hair mask on them every month. Also apply a heat protectant or serum to the hair extensions to protect them from hot styling tools and to keep them smooth. If you follow these steps, your extensions will last longer and the texture will remain smooth.

My overall experience with You-Too extensions is great; I give them an overall 4.0 for quality of hair as it is not as described. The length, weight and number of wefts is great, however, the quality is the worst by far.

*This is solely based on my own opinion and experience, the hair was not tested through a lab or pharmacist. The hair extensions were dyed by a professional hair stylist who came to the conclusion that the hair was not Remy nor 100% human hair.
