You sit down at a bar surrounded by relaxed faces, but on top of that looms an air of competition. Over the mic you hear, “Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house.” Who said it? How and the heck would you know that? You look around and there are 20 pencils to the paper. Who are these people?
They're 'Geeks Who Drink.'
If you are one of the hundreds of Seattleites that attend Geeks Who Drink events on a weekly basis you're one of the stupefying minds that likely know the answer to the question above.
“Geeks Who Drink” brings thousands of drinkers to the pubs and keeps them there for hours. The model is great for business and for players, or uh… geeks alike.
The questions are creative, themed, and entertaining and will play upon all of the senses with visual, audio, and paper rounds that cover any and all topics. The questions are entertaining enough to accommodate the most particular of Seattleites and difficult enough to stump the most advanced.
Often your smarts lead to terrific prizes and drinks if you can create the savviest team of six or less in the pub.
If you want to catch Geeks Who Drink you can start hunting for a pub at http://www.geekswhodrink.com/41/Seattle/ or contact one of the many local participants, which include:
- The North Bend Bar & Grill, North Bend
- Red Papaya, Queen Anne
- Buckley's, Bell Town
- Dog & Pony, Renton
- Paddy Coyne's, Bellevue
- Snoqualmie Falls Taproom, Snoqualmie
- Altstadt, Pioneer Square
There are dozens of participating pubs scattered throughout King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties, each with their own style and beer selection from the German Beers of Aldstadt to the very local and on-site brewed beers of the Snoqualmie Taproom.
It’s a good time and you’re sure to meet the best people, have a delicious local brew, and learn a few things about the world to boot.
