You still have time to get Thriller Apples for your New Year's gatherings (Photos)

Having a holiday party? Looking for something healthy, delicious and unusual for your holiday entertaining? There is still time to get to Hidden Valley Farms before the end of the year to pick up some Thriller Apples, delicious cheese, fruit, crackers and freshly pressed apple cider.

The legendary Thriller Apples are huge apples – at least 1.5 pounds - which are dipped in quality milk caramel, then dipped in premium chocolate, rolled in finely chopped peanuts and then drizzled with three more kinds of chocolate! You and your guests (each apple serves eight!) will enjoy the crisp juiciness of the apple, the smooth caramel, the sweet chocolate coatings and the crunchy nuts for a delicious combination of flavors and textures. Festive holiday Thrillers are also available, with red and green chocolate drizzles (see slideshow photo). You can also find Buckeye Apples, which are dipped in caramel and then dipped in peanut butter-chocolate, as well as regular caramel apples. All apples are dipped daily and Hidden Valley will even ship the apples for you, to a friend or a business associate.

Hidden Valley Farms on State Route 48 in Lebanon is still open through the end of the year, and they still have their regular homegrown apples, which are a thrill in and of themselves! Hidden Valley has delicious ciders too – regular and flavored - homemade cider donuts, and holidays baskets of every description (or they will make one up just for you!).

There are canned goods of every description, Amish noodles, dried fruits, nuts, soup mixes, candies, fresh fruits and vegetables, coffees, and a variety of different mulling spices.

Don’t forget their baked goods: Hidden Valley has 10 different pies available, including Dutch apple, caramel apple, peach and pecan pies. There are cookies, breads and cakes, hot apple cider and fresh donuts made daily; the apple cider donuts are slightly crisp on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. You can call or stop by to place your holiday order for these delicious baked goods or for any of the other many offerings at Hidden Valley.

Hidden Valley grows a variety of fruits on their farm, including 38 varieties of apples. Some apples are picked right into November, and there are still several kinds of fresh homegrown apples for sale, including Rome, Jonagold, Honey Crisp and Mutsu, among others. Hidden Valley cider has no preservatives and is pressed every week. It has a ten day shelf life but it freezes excellently; you can also get cherry cider and raspberry cider. Cider is delicious and warming when served hot, and if you like mulled cider, there are several kinds of mulling mixes available.

Hidden Valley Fruit Farm has been around for over sixty years. The 70-acre farm still has the original barn which is over 150 years old (and now houses the bakery and store). Why not make Hidden Valley a part of your family’s holiday traditions?

Call to place your holiday order today at 513-932-1869. Hidden Valley is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of the year, and is a great way to shop locally and support the economy in our own community.
