When a great man walks the earth, tragedy follows his path. For just as Jesus walked the earth, heretics followed. And whenever Truth graces our hometown, deception and lies will certainly also follow.
This, too, can be said of Martin Luther King, Jr.
As he spread the message of peace (found in justice), race baiters, and socialists, have followed him, capitalizing on their similar skin color, yet denying the same truthful integrity through a message of social justice in perpetrated injustices. Today, beware of the counterfeit MLK commemorator. Judge the tree by its fruit.
Here are three major differences between the goodness of MLK, and the shallow machinations of his deceptive imitators:
"Obedience is better than sacrifice,
and submission than the fat of rams.
For a sin like divination is rebellion,
and presumption is the crime of idolatry." 1 Samuel 15:16-23
Martin Luther King, Jr., was not only a doctor (Ph.D), but he was a Reverend--a man of Jesus Christ. Though Barack Obama professes Christianity, and Al Sharpton wears the Reverend title, neither man obeys the Commandments of God. MLK obeyed as he walked Jesus' arduous path of Mount Calvary, walking the path of peaceful resistance amongst hostile enemies. He gave his life on that path. MLK is an excellent exemplar of Christian obedience. Obama and Sharpton, however, do all the dances of Christianity at Sunday services, but then disobey the Commandments in killing unborn babies, stealing rich people's money, initiating class warfare, and attacking freedom of religion in our nation. Divination and presumption, furthermore, are the means and the end of these race hustlers. Idolatry of the state, and personal gain, is their religion.
Hardly the work of a Reverend and a man of peace (Obama won the Nobel Peace prize).
"Why do you recite my statutes,
and profess my covenant with your mouth,
Though you hate discipline
and cast my words behind you?” Psalm 50:8-9, 16-17, 21, 23
To preach, and exemplify, peace within a raging racial battle, MLK had to have loved the Paschal discipline of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To MLK, the Cross of Jesus was his gentle yoke. For Obama and Sharpton, however, the discipline of the Christian Spirit is a scourge to be avoided, or rebuked. They shout 'no' to the Spirit, like 'legion,' when they offer contraception (Plan B) to 15 year old girls. They do the same when they champion Planned Parenthood and 'gay' marriage. MLK was all about unity and peace. Obama and Sharpton are all about retribution and revenge.
Love and hate, my friend, are truly opposites.
"Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins,
and both the wine and the skins are ruined.
Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.” Mark 2:18-22
The Life of Jesus Christ is the new wine, and the ways of sinful man are the old skins. If we don't change our ways--in attitude, desire, and deed--we can never contain the glory of God within us. Yet, a little repentance, a little humility, and a little obedience goes a long way. For God can fit His Almighty Infiniteness into our little self if only we say 'yes' to his Love.
MLK did it. That is why we commemorate his memory, and continue his battle. After all, it's a nice little image of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, commemorated in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and obeyed unto salvation as Christian disciples in acts of evangelization and Mercy.
Yet, only a few steps behind us lurks the heretic and the race baiter, continuing to fight the battle (of their father--of lies) already lost on Calvary.
