The March for Life is a little over a week away. Individuals and groups are gearing up to descend upon Washington, D.C. en mass to exercise their rights to assemble and to free speech under the Constitution. What is paramount to this gathering is that they come to proclaim every person's RIGHT TO LIFE. Every year since 1974, beginning on the anniversary the marked the infamous Supreme Court decision, Roe vs. Wade that made abortion procedures legal in the United States, people committed to the cause of life have been marching.
Many events happen around the March. A Youth Rally is held at the Verizon Center the morning of the March for Life that will draw thousands of young prolife youth from a variety of religious, economic and ethnic backgrounds together to celebrate the dignity and unique nature of each and every life. There are more formal dinners, gatherings and speeches to support and promote Prolife issues, as well.
This year, a multimedia exhibit created by the Sisters of Life, and made available with the support of the Knights of Columbus, will be showcased at the Blessed John Paul II Shrine, formerly the John Paul II Cultural Center, located adjacent to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in NW D.C. As written on the flyer for the event, this exhibit "will draw you into an encounter with six people facing challenging situations who discover the freedom and joy that come from a love that is willing to sacrifice for the good of another."
Turnout is anticipated to be high, and space is limited for this exhibit. Details for the event are listed below with pre-registration information and a link to the announcement on the Sisters of Life website.
