You'll forget Jurassic Park with the new Dino Land app (Photos)

Make way for the Dinosaurs.

I'm of course talking about National Geographic Dino Land.

This new gaming app is free and now available for download in the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Dino Land is an interactive learning and time- and resource-management game in which players create and build their own dinosaur park while learning real facts about dinosaurs.

Each dinosaur in the game has facts and illustrations from National Geographic’s popular “Ultimate Dinopedia” iPad app and book.

Players of all ages will love this game as they are challenged to collect and breed dinosaurs in a fun interactive environment where they can unlock new species and more. Yes, this is Jurassic Park without all the bad acting.

There are also in-app purchases for premium dinosaurs and additional items to decorate their park, as well as bonus features and gameplay with others.

This is a beautifully designed app and when you add in the gameplay, it's addictive and an excellent learning tool.

“We are delighted to team with Ascend Acquisition to provide an educational experience consistent with the culture and values of the National Geographic Society,” said Chris Mate, National Geographic’s vice president of Games. “We believe that players of all ages will enjoy National Geographic Dino Land and all the exciting challenges posed by this fun and engaging game.”

Hopefully, Dino Land will be successful and will spur National Geographic on to create more titles in the future.

“We are pleased that the first major mobile game launch at Andover Games is associated with National Geographic,” said Craig dos Santos, chief executive officer of Ascend Acquisition. “Teaming with National Geographic is part of our strategy of linking our high quality mobile games with powerful brands. We look forward to making announcements of other games currently in beta testing in the near future.”

Get this app and remember why we love the dinosaurs so much.
