While shopping at a local supermarket the middle aged couple noticed how fresh the honeydew melon looked and proceeded to pick up the best looking one of the bunch and gently place it in their shopping cart. Suddenly they noticed a produce sign over the honeydews that read "spaghetti squash- $4.99". Convinced they had picked up a spaghetti squash because of the clearly marked sign, they put the fruit back down. As they left the produce isle, an awakening occurred complete with descending arc angels, music and bright lights. It was in fact a honeydew melon they had left behind. They ran back to the section and scooped up that honeydew melon and chuckled for a while! The sign displayed was wrongly placed but very convincing. Both their set of eyes and common sense deceived them almost as if the sign was final authority.
It’s very plausible for common sense and logic to be paused for a while in the presence of authority or a respected promoter. Human beings can stare truth in the face and believe they are seeing falsehoods if authority says so. It is only when the “horse blinders” come off that an individual can rely solely on their own mind to actually assess and challenge what is presented.
For months we heard President Obama say existing healthcare for Americans will not change for those who have health insurance and like it. He even went on to say if Americans “liked their doctor, they can keep their doctor”. Americans didn’t know that behind the scenes, Obamacare legislation was designed to destroy the private insurance industry and cause millions of people to lose coverage, forcing healthy Americans to have to buy into Obamacare under duress. Isn’t that what bullies did in school? They forced the weaker students to fork over their lunch money. Either they gladly handed over the loot or they passively faced the fist. The only difference in this example is the Supreme Court didn’t side with the school bully, but sided with the democrat bullies in Congress.
Now Americans have found out what Republicans have predicted all along. Obamacare features higher premiums (for the most part) and much higher deductibles. The President promised lower prices. What he meant to say was lower quality. Doctors will not be paid what they deserve and many will opt out of accepting these plans. Many doctors will shut down their private practice and not even bother. It’s not a total loss however. You can always perform your own open heart surgery and give birth in your bathtub. Right? The long depressing lines and smaller pool of medical specialists will mimic Canada’s; and let’s not go into the obamacare death panels. Afterall, why would the gov’t pay up to $125,000 for an 86 year old woman’s hip replacement if their data base tells them statistically she has only 5 more years to live. The only Americans that will not be affected will be the upper echelon, who will always get the best medical care by jetting to the best doctors and paying cash.
To date, 3.5 million people have lost their health insurance. It is predicted that close to 129 million privately insured individuals will be affected by the end of 2014. They will either lose their coverage entirely or get bumped down to a more expensive insurance that covers less and demands higher deductibles. This should alarm all Americans, even if they have not received their cancellation letter yet; the letters go out November end and no one is exempt to the upcoming disaster. This is the calm before the storm. Judge Napolitano said it best. He said the government can come after an individual or company for fraud, but individuals cannot come after the President for fraud. Americans have just fallen prey to bait and switch. They’ve been sold a lemon and they want their $600 million dollars back!
