The Great American Pie Festival is once again coming to Celebration, Florida and they are compiling award winning pies, ice cream, toppings and beverages into a gargantuan buffet. This spring the American Pie Council will turn Celebration into the Pie Capitol of the World for the 13th year in a row and thousands of pie enthusiasts will be counting down the days till April 26th and 27th, 2014 but it’s not just all about the buffet… There’s a pie eating contest too! And entertainment, fun for kids, presentations… and did I mention Pie?
A free Pietopia demonstration stage will feature local entertainment, baking demonstrations from chefs all across the country. A children’s creativity area will have bounce houses and pie related crafts for adults and kids alike for a charge of $10 per child all guaranteed to help move some of that pie to your hollow leg for another go at the buffet.
The Never-Ending Pie buffet costs $10 per adult and $5 for seniors and children under 12. Features include offerings from Publix, Kroger, Cabot cheese, Bakers Square, Legendary Baking, Wick’s pies, and Village Inn among entries from the National Pie Championships being held just up the street. Now if you have a recipe that can trump just about any pie known to man then you might want to enter the Pie Championships and flex those pie-making muscles. You could leave with $5k.
You can check out some of the fun from last year’s festival in this short video from the APC but for a good time on the beautiful Celebration waterfront there’s no beating a buffet. Dogs are always welcome but they request keeping them away from the buffet.
