You can travel the world without leaving home at Medina's International Fest

The Cleveland and Northeast Ohio area is a diverse, multi-cultural region and Clevelanders have the opportunity to celebrate the diversity and travel the world without ever leaving the Northeast Ohio region by attending the 6th annual Medina International Fest on Saturday, August 23. It is approximately a 40 minute drive from Cleveland.

Medina International Fest Taking place at the downtown Medina Public Square, the Medina International Fest will feature a wide variety of international entertainment and food celebrating many cultures of the world. There will also be an International Bazaar with more than 80 vendors offering fine arts, clothing, ethnic art work, jewelry, handmade crafts, Turkish lamps, Polish pottery and fair trade goods for sale.

Musical performers at the Medina International Fest include Wyndfall (Irish, Celtic, Folk and Folk Rock), Umojah Nation (Reggae), 7 Mile Isle (Steel Drum Band), Jimmy K & Ethnic Jazz (Jazz, Fusion, and Polka) and Uzizi (world music, Folk, Rock and sacred harp singing).

This year, the Fest will also feature a Family and Kids Carnival offering activities like an inflatable obstacle course, games of chance (with Romp & Stomp) and a fitness challenge.

Make sure you don't miss the Children's International Parade of Nations starting at 1:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in heritage or native clothing.

Some of the cultures of food being offered for purchase are Italian, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Greek, Hungarian, French and American .

Among the participating restaurants are Zydeco Bistro, Mad Mouth Gyro, Old World Foods, Bombay Grill, Bruno's Ristorante, Fire Truck Pizza Co., Connection Church, Mobile Sushi Bar, The Nosh Box and Wholly Frijoles. For dessert there will be Schloneger's Ice Cream and items from Rito's Bakery.

Hours for the Medina International Fest are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Admission is free and parking is free.
