Potato puffs at Bar*Food
The West L.A. eatery Bar*Food, which in a previous article I had dubbed L.A.’s best new restaurant of 2009, has made some delightful changes to its offerings.
First and foremost, owner Jason Killalee has decided to extend his happy hour prices to – get this – the entire evening! From 5pm til midnight every night (yes, they’re now open on Mondays), enjoy such favorites as the sinfully delicious spicy tuna on crispy rice for just $6. Or try the rich and silky potato puffs – only $2 for an entire bowl!
Adding on to his already impressive selection of 24 beers on tap, Killalee is now offering 20 kinds of whiskey, scotch, and bourbon as well. And the menu has been expanded to include such traditional pub fare (and cuisine from Killalee’s native Ireland) as shepherd’s pie and Guiness beef stew.
Bar*Food, already a can’t-miss destination on L.A.’s Westside, has become an even sweeter stop. And speaking of sweet, don’t forget to check out their to-die-for bread pudding at the end of your meal…you won’t regret it.
