According to a Mar. 3 report in “Wired”, right now you can listen to David Bowie's blockbuster new album for free on iTunes.
“The Next Day” is Mr. Bowie's first album in 10 years. He did release two videos on YouTube last month: “Where Are We Now” and “The Stars (Are Out Tonight) back in January. However, they didn't receive much more attention than this chance to listen for free to his new album.
It is because of free music streaming like this on iTunes, and internet stations like “Pandora” and “Spotify”, that illegal music file sharing is down 26 percent from last year. Users downloading music illegally is down 17 percent and music ripped from CDs to share with family and friends is down 44 percent. Overall, illegal music sharing has dropped dramatically from its peak in 2005.
