The Society for Disabled Children in Bakersfield has partnered with Alianza Recycling and Recovery LLC, to raise funds and awareness this weekend with an electronic waste drive! The Society for Disabled Children was established in 1947 as the Kern County Society for Crippled Children and Adults in 2002 the organization adopted it's current name Society for Disabled Children. Its mission is to identify, create and deliver programs and services that promote the physical and mental health of special needs children.
To accomplish that mission, the Society for Disabled Children raise funds and awareness to help to provide special needs children birth to eighteen with
- Transportation Assistance
- Speech and Language Therapy
- S.T.A.R. (Learning Delay Assistance)
- Camp Blue Jay
- Social Activities
- Medical Equipment/Supplies
How can you help? Bring your electronic waste to the e-waste recycling drive this Saturday, August 31!

What can you bring? Televisions sets old and new, working or not; computers, monitors, laptops, fax machines, printers, gaming consoles, even rechargeable batteries and car batteries.
