You don't need to watch the last Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode you DVR'd this weekend. Mt Vernon has a treat for you. With readings on multiple stages, cooking demos by top chefs, panel discussions, walking tours, storytellers for kids and live live music, you may miss a few thing this year at the Baltimore Book Festival.
New for 2013 is the free Baltimore Book Festival mobile app.
- Official schedule
- Author bios
- Exhibitor listings
- Festival news
Also new is the Charm City Comic Book Pavilion. There are thousands of books and collectibles and you can chat with professional comic book creators and game designers. And of course there are the panels all weekend.
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America are presenting a weekend of programming by their member authors and special guests. They start off at noon on Friday with the panel From Zeus to Zombies, a discussion on myths and legends in literature. Present will be authors Stephanie Draven, Catherine Asaro, Christine Norris, L. Jagi Lamplighter and Richard Groller. On Sunday come to Workshop on World Building and the authors will help you build your own world. Helping you out will be authors Bud Sparhawk, Catherine Asaro, John Zaharick, Julie Czerneda, Philippa Ballantine and Thorsten Markus. In between there are many other panels to help you with writing and literature.
