What can you do in 2014 to promote kindness?
As 2013 comes to an end, we sadly look at headlines of youth suicides, kids that are teased, harassed, to a point where statistics still show us that 43% of school students are fearful to use their school restrooms.
When will this end?
No one is immune to bullying, but everyone can do something about it.
Take the time to learn how to become an upstander in your school and community.
St. Johns County is proactive in educating our community on topics such as bullying and cyberbullying.
This year The Community Empowerment Series is bringing back leading Parenting and Bullying Prevention Expert, Dr. Michele Borba and joining her is leading Cyberbullying Prevention Expert and co-founder of the Cyberbullying Research Center, Dr. Sameer Hinduja.
There will also be body-image workshops for girls 8-14 years old with leading expert, Sarah Burningham.
This will be a full day of educational and informational resources for parents, teachers and students.
