You and I live in entropy as evidence of its existence

I occasionally get emails from different people asking me to explain further the terms that I have used in the articles. Entropy is one of the terms from physics, and it is one that we live with, and in, every day. Entropy can be stated as:

1. Order is constantly moving towards disorder

2. usable energy is running out,

3. information tends to get scrambled,

4. music is moving towards cacophony, and that tends to be a compliment,

5. a random jumble cannot organize itself (the goo to the zoo to you thermo).

Take for example at our home, the combination garage and workshop. It can be spotless and my son-in-law can trash it in an hour (I believe his middle name is Entropy). My desktop, at church, tends to become more and more cluttered as the day progresses with the last hour spent restoring the surface.

Prior to taking physics in college, I didn't know that entropy existed even though I regularity participated in its creation. On a more serious note it has been suggested and advanced that current physics, including the entropy laws ("the bondage of decay"), were a result of the fall of man recorded in Genesis Chapter 3. (Hebrews 11:3; Romans 8:19-23; Psalms 102:25-27; Proverbs 16:33; Ephesians 1:11; Hebrews 1:2-3; Colossians 1:16,17.)

"The Universe therefore must be an open system that was created by a non-physical force (not composed of mass/matter/energy) outside of the physical boundary of this Universe (above nature, or supernatural) with the capability of bringing it into existence out of nothing. That Force can be none other than the supernatural God of the Bible. Scientifically speaking, the Universe could not and did not spontaneously generate." (Dr. Jeff Miller, God and the Laws of Thermodynamics: A Mechanical Engineer’s Perspective, The Apologetic's Press, 2007.)

The entropy laws reveal a universe which is "winding down." It then, therefore, had to have been initially "wound-up." This windup, the reduction of entropy, or the infusion of order (information), is described in Genesis 1 in a series of six stages. The terms used in this progressive reduction of entropy (disorder) are erev and boker, which have led to their being translated "evening" and "morning."

Evening-and-mornings constituted the principal stages of creation. Six "evenings" and "mornings" became the "days" constituting the creation "week." However, what we presently know about the physical universe is derived only from observing the universe after the upheavals of Genesis 3.

Some suspect that the ostensible decay of c, the slowing velocity of light, was one of the results of the upheavals of Genesis Chapter 3.

The inspired writer wrote in Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Paul declared in Acts 14:17, “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

The Psalmist affirmed, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psalms 19:1). Paul assured the Romans, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20, emphasis added).
