After several weeks of closure, Yosemite National Park has reopened.You can now get reservations for open campgrounds--ﬁrst come ﬁrst served.
The fastest way to Yosemite from the San Francisco Bay Area is on Highway 120. The highway takes you quickly from Manteca up towards Yosemite Junction, where you turn off towards Yosemite National Park: you go through Chinese Camp, Moccasin, Groveland, Harden Flat, and into the park.
This road is known by the people of California as the Scenic Route. It takes you
through the California Mother Lode, where there were many high producing gold mines.

There is an all season route, Highway 41, known as the West Entrance to the park, and
the highway is always open to Yosemite Park's Valley. The road goes through Merced,
California, and is known as the Gateway to Yosemite: Highways 59, 99, 140, Amtrak
and by bus goes into Yosemite Valley through this route.
As a German visitor said, after paying his entrance fee, "Now I can enjoy my visit to California."

the long closure of the park.
