Yonkers, New York Chase Bank Robberys Convicted in White Plains Federal Court

On May 18, 2011 the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York held court at the White Plains Federal Courtroom. The assistant Director in charge of the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced the defendents; Linton Williams, Linroy Blake, Leon Scott, Leroy Scott, Ramsey Acevedo, and John Santos were guilty for being in connection with the robbery of Chase Bank in Yonkers, New York on December 17, 2010. Linton Williams, Linroy Blake, Leon Scott, and Leroy Scoot were each arrested in March of 2011 and are being held in content without bail. John Santos and Ramsey Acevedo were arrested in May of 2011.

The robbery took place at 2195 Central Park Avenue in Yonker, New York at approximately 6:00 p.m. The accused Williams, Blake, Leon Scoot, Leroy Scott, and Acevedo drove to the vicinity. Each appeared to be carrying a weapon, together they entered the Chase Bank. Linroy Blake demanded the bank employees get the key to the vault, he jumped over the teller counter, and followed two of the bank employees into the vault area. Once the bank employees opened the vault, Blake began to open a baf and direct the two employees to put the money into his bag. The estimated total in Blake's bag was a outstanding $410,000. After, however, the criminals escaped to an apartment located on Morris Avenue in Bronx, New York, where all of their co-conspirators gathered to divide the money. Later that evening, Santos aided the participants in the bank robbery by destroying evidence and storing the robbery proceeds.

The six men are charged in with two separate indictments. Williams, Blake, Leon Scott, Leroy Scott, and Acevedo are each charged with one count of conspiract to commit armed bank robbery, which carries a maximum penalty of at least five years in prison, and one couney of armed bank robbery, which maxies out at least 25 years in prison. Santos was charged with being an accessory after the fact to the bank robbery, and faces a maximun penalty of not more than one half the  of term of imprisonment for the punishment of the principals.
