The folks at the Yolo County SPCA are hard at work as always, doing their best to find happy homes for an array of dogs and cats. Their annual fashion show is coming up soon and there’s still time to take advantage of reduced adoption fees through their winter Chihuahua adoption program.

The Chilly Chi’s winter adoption promotion is ongoing until March 1st. Adoption fees are reduced to $50 for all adult Chihuahua mixes and $100 for all Chihuahua mix puppies. The adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and a heartworm test. The Yolo County SPCA lists the following top 5 reasons to adopt a Chihuahua:

5. They are FULL of personality.
4. They like to curl up under the covers and watch TV.
3. They are easy on the dog food bill.
2. They are incredibly cute.
1. There are too many in shelters, and they need YOU!

You can view adoptable Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes, as well as all of Yolo SPCA’s adoptable animals, at

If you can’t adopt a pet right now, you can still show your support for the Yolo SPCA. Mark your calendars and join them at their 3rd Annual Fashion Show. SPCA staffers will model outfits donated by local businesses. There will be free refreshments and wine sold by the glass. You’ll also have a chance to shop during the show. The event will take place Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at 920 Third Street, Suite F, in Davis.
