Happy Praise Productions presents Yolanda Adams coming to Jacksonville Florida in concert. She will be ‘bringing it” to the Paxton Revival Center Church on Saturday February 18, 2012 @ 5:00 PM. Host of “The Yolanda Adams Show” on 92.5FM (weekdays from 6AM to 10AM), Yolanda will be ministering the Word of God at the celebration in familiar songs and beautiful attire. Come enjoy an unforgettable evening honoring Black History with the contemporary Gospel sounds of the incomparable, three-time Grammy award winner,Ms. Yolanda Adams.
This Black History Gospel Presentation will be hosted by Octavius Davis of Joy 92.5 FM. The evening of distinction promises to be a night to remember! Also slated to minister during this Black History celebration are: Eric Whitherspoon & NU JUDAH360, Staar Fields, Bessie Brown, Sabrina “Bre” Belson, Josh, EWC Concert Choir & Henry Barton’s “Praise Dancers” This event is anticipated to be a “sell-out”!
A Little About Yolanda Adams: Besides being a gospel-award-winning songstress, Ms. Adams is also an author of the book: “Points of Power”. In June of 2011, Yolanda graced the stage of the “Monique Show” and shared her thoughts about many things happening in her life (take a look at the link and see the video of the interview). Her latest album “Becoming” is available at Walmart.
Religious audiences have been validating Yolanda for well over a decade. She was employed as an elementary teacher in Houston when she first began to garner recognition for her stunning performances. “I taught second and third grades. I would go on the road during the weekends to sing. Pretty soon the demand started growing. I realized I might be able to make it my career.”
It was while she served as a lead singer with the Southeast Inspirational Choir that Yolanda caught the eye of the prolific composer/producer Thomas Whitfield. He guided her first album, Just As I am for Sound of Gospel Records. Yolanda went on to sing for the Tribute label in 1990, and was soon hailed as the most versatile contemporary gospel singer since Aretha Franklin.
