Yoko Ono will be interviewed and perform in two separate events at this year's the 25th edition of South By Southwest 2011 (SXSW), the festival announced Wednesday.
Ono will do a sit-down interview on a subject yet to be determined with Jody Denberg March 18. Past SXSW interviews have featured Joan Baez, the Beastie Boys, Kris Kristofferson, Rickie Lee Jones, Chrissie Hynde, Elvis Costello, Devo, Cheap Trick, Steven Van Zandt and Judy Collins.
The following night, she will be a special guest performer at a special Chimera Music Night at The Elysium, 705 Red River St., Austin, Texas. The evening will feature acts from Sean Lennon's music label of the same name. Scheduled performers include Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon & Charlotte Kemp Muhl), Kemp & Eden (Charlotte Kemp Muhl & Eden Rice), If By Yes (Petra Haden & Yuka Honda of Cibo Matto), Consortium Musicum (Sean Lennon & Greg Saunier of Deerhoof), Fig (Yuka Honda & Nels Cline) and Mi-gu (Yuko Araki & Hirotaka Shimmy Shimizu of Cornelius group).
This year's South By Southwest takes place March 16 - 20, 2011 in Austin, Texas.
Additionally, The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger's "La Carotte Bleue" CD, previously only available on tour, is now available in the Chimera Music store online. The release contains eight electric songs, including two songs from their "Jardin du Luxembourg" 7" vinyl.
