Yoko Ono somewhere in New York City - an on-the-spot in-concert report

We received a report from Charles Rosenay, who's at tonight's special Yoko Ono concert in New York that's still going on. A special program was handed out with the guests and songs to be performed. These were to appear in the second half.

The show began with a 20 minute slide/video presentation and the concert began about 8:21 p.m.

Merchandise for sale included a "War Is Over" poster.

Sean Lennon alternated between guitar, bass and piano. At one point, Yoko asked Sean how a part they'd just played went and Sean said fine, unaware the mic picked it up. He then repeated he really thought it was great.

Those in attendance included photographer Bob Gruen, who snapped some iconic photos of John Lennon, and promoter Sid Bernstein, who organized the Carnegie Hall and Shea Stadium shows.

Among the songs played was "Mind Train."

Yoko Ono performs "Rising" in London in June, 2009.

The band is great but they really need to find a new lead singer. As for "War is Over" i think she played that one to death back in the day. It never was about peace, it was always about glorious, self promotion. Jump on a bandwagon and ride it to death and there will always be a more than willing gullible audience to lap it up, going home under the delusion that they are making the world a better place because John and Yoko said so, when really they should be hassling their elected representatives and ignoring this self serving woman who cares little about politics, just her own ambition. As long as there are resources to be exploited and weapons to be sold, there will always be war. Get over it and grow up people and ignore this awful woman.

Bad Boogie dude has a serious chip on his shoulder. Read Grapefruit. Listen to all of Sometime in New York City. Get over your critical self and open up your mind to real cosmic art. As Klaus or someone said at first it sounded like a bunch of crap but "then I got it." Let thos with ears and hearts hear!
