Yoko Ono has just announced that tickets are now available for a "dress rehearsal" warm-up show with the Plastic Ono Band at 8 p.m. Feb. 15 at BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave., New York City the night before her special birthday show at the same venue.
The new show was organized after the Feb. 16 birthday show sold out in two hours.
"Yoko was not happy that some of her most dedicated fans were shut out, so she came up with the idea of opening the doors to the public for a very rare concert experience," according to information on her MySpace blog.
Members of her core band -- Sean Lennon, Yuka Honda and Cornelius (Keigo Oyamada, Shimmy Hirotaka Shimizu and Yuko Araki) -- will be featured.
None of the special guests planned for the Feb. 16 show, which sold out in two hours, are advertised for the warm up show, but according to her blog, "who knows?" Those Feb. 16 guests include Bette Midler, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann, Jim Keltner, Thurston Moore and the Scissor Sisters.
Tickets for this show range from $19.90-$65 and can be purchased online at www.BAM.org or by calling 718-636-4100.

How could the show have sold out in two hours when tickets were still available on the Bam Web site 2 weeks after they went on sale? I know because I found some. The $80 seats were still available. Methinks dear Yoko is exaggerating a bit.
Sid Bernstein and friends will be attending Yoko Ono's Plastic Ono Band at Brooklyn Academy of Music on February 16.
Wish I could be there for both shows! Too bad the US doesn't have high-speed rail to NYC from every state capital.
Yoko Ono was horrible to listen to 30 years ago, I can't imagine the torture of listening to her as a 77 year old trying to scream like she used to. Please don't make me, please. Oh, yeah, I don't have to do I? Whew.
I'm lucky enough to have tickets to both shows. Bought the one for the 16th the day it went on sale. Even though it was within minutes, my ticket was halfway back in the concert hall. My ticket for the rehearsal is a bit better, but still a few rows from the front! Thrilled to see Yoko again!!!
yoko a great artist that people now understand that her screaming is her art listen ti her fly album and ringos drumming on yoko ono plastic ono band
Art is a horribly misused and maligned word. Art should always refer to something beautiful and inspirational, whether it be painting, sculpture, music or literature. Her "music" is niether inspirational nor beautiful and causes me to cringe at the awfulness of it. I realize that there are those out there who may relate to it on some lower level but I think it is just the opposite of 'art'.
"Sold out in two hours"? I bought my tickets direct three days after they went on sale, then bought another pair (for a friend) a few days after that.
