Yogi Berra, legendary New York Yankees catcher and manager, is already 85 years old. Yogi Berra was led by Vice President Joe Biden to the Stephen Colbert Comedy Central celebration of the US troops returning from Iraq.

Yogi Berra and Comedy Central

Yogi Berra was part of a comic crew on “The Colbert Report” celebrating the troops coming back after President Obama's announcement. Colbert said, “I'm not going to debate this war. It's been seven years. Who can remember who invaded who? Tonight is for the troops.”

Fighting continues in Afghanistan and 50,000 troops remain in the Middle East. The show focused on celebrating the troops' return. AP states the two-part episode is entitled, “Been There: Won That: The Returnification of the American-Do Troopscape.”

Yogi Berra's Famous Line

During the show, Joe Biden played a hot dog vendor and US military commander in Iraq, Gen. Ray Odierno, wore a toupee of Colbert hair. Yogi Berra, a World War II veteran, played the “conflict analyst” on the show. His analysis included his famous quote, “Stephen, it ain't over till it's over.”

Yogi Berra After the Fall

In July, Yogi Berra was unable to attend the Yankees 64th Old-Timers Day due to an unfortunate fall near his Montclair, New Jersey home. The Daily News reports he suffered a few cuts to the face and hurt his nose but had no broken bones.

A statement on behalf of Yogi Berra indicated, “"He is extremely disappointed he is unable to participate in the Old-Timers' ceremonies and see so many of his friends. He appreciates all the well-wishes and hopes to be up and about very soon."

A couple of months later Yogi Berra made it to the Comedy Central celebration with Joe Biden holding his arm to salute the troops. Elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, Yogi Berra is one of the greatest catchers in baseball history.
