Sacred Rides’ eight-day yoga/mountain-biking retreat in Mexico’s Sierra Madre Range combines yoga in the great outdoors with mountain biking on scenic coastlines, double-track trails, short to medium climbs, and moderately challenging terrain.
“[The] ride is for the relatively fit and adventurous beginner to intermediate mountain biker who enjoys riding relatively easy trails and dirt roads to access beautiful places,” states Sacred Rides. The company suggests clients should not mind “getting out of [their] cultural comfort zone to open up to new experiences.”
Four yoga classes are matched to the day's activities and the time of day.
The vacation adventure also includes an ocean safari by panga and the opportunity to swim alongside dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays in the Marietas Islands National Park. Optional surf and salsa lessons are available as well.
Located 18 miles from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the retreat is held at Playa Escondida, a private beach resort.
Sacred Rides was ranked “#1 mountain bike tour operator on Earth” by National Geographic Adventure. They offer small-group, single-track mountain bike adventures and skills camps in 13 destinations worldwide.
