Yitro: Unlimited focus - holy conversations

Unlimited focus brings the object into view through all obstructions.  Imagine a shining mirror that is covered by a tapestry, in the midst of a fog on a dark night.  At first even the existence of the mirror is unknown but then gradually at first and then with increasing purpose the dark night brightens to morning, the fog lifts to clarity and the tapestry is suddenly and irrevocably removed revealing the shining mirror in full view.  Such is the power and efficacy of unlimited focus.

Shemos:19:9. And the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I am coming to you in the thickness of the cloud, in order that the people hear when I speak to you, and they will also believe in you forever." And Moses relayed the words of the people to the Lord.

Hashem appears to Israel at first in a cloud.  The understanding that is Torah is about to be revealed and at first it is obscure.  Moshe will translate this obscurity into an effective revelation that will transport Israel from a limited version of reality to an unlimited focus that reveals the unity of Creation.

Shemos: 19:14. So Moses descended from the mountain to the people, and he prepared the people, and they washed their garments.

Moshe prepares the people meaning he teaches them the intricacies of Torah.  The people for their part 'wash their garments,' meaning that they clear their minds of untoward thoughts and open their hearts to receive the Torah.

Shemos 19:17. Moses brought the people out toward God from the camp, and they stood at the bottom of the mountain.

Moshe prepares the people for his ascension of the mountain.  Now when it says 'toward God,' the word used is Elohim expressing God as the natural course of events or in other words 'the way things work.'  This is the primary understanding that will unlock all of the secrets of Torah. Without this basic heads up the people will not be able to fathom the deeper mysteries of Torah.

Shemos 19:19. The sound of the shofar grew increasingly stronger; Moses would speak and God would answer him with a voice.

The shofar is a clarion call to Consciousness. It is expressly used to awaken the soul to its heavenly attachment.  The people received the Torah in this indirect way as Moshe was able to absorb and then translate the message from above to the people below.

There is always a way shower within (Moshe) that opens up the doors of awareness so that our higher thoughts become conscious to us.  For some it may be a certain feeling, or for others symbols, thought forms, etc.  The key here is the conscious marking of the interface within that once discovered may be used in all upward journeys seeking holiness.

When we walk away from the detailed actions of Moshe on Mount Sinai we may then enter into the inner dimensions wherein everything that transpires is yet another metaphor for the way in which our Consciousness engages in its holy conversations above.  B"H
