Year in review for Yarnorama's colorways of the month (Photos)

2012 was a colorful year for spinners, thanks to Yarnorama-owner Susan Fricks and her monthly colorways. Click on the slideshow above to see a photo of each one.

January: New Beginnings was a 100% Merino in a fresh and bright turquoise with dashes of purple, brown, and green.
February: Crocus and Tulips had a full range of purple, from lilac to deep violet, mixed with a touch of gold, in Cheviot wool.
March: Susan dyed two colorways to celebrate the start of the store's 5th year in business. Cliffs of Moher was inspired by a photo of the Irish coast and brought the vibrant blues and greens to life with the sheen of Romney. Anniversary Red Velvet brought cake to the party with Blue-Faced Leicester and Tussah silk bringing lusciousness to the mix of red and cream.
April: With colors that inspire a Happy Dance, this colorway of Corriedale Cross blended violet and turquoise into orange, with some overlapping green.
May: Superwash Polwarth Cross brought easy spinning and easy wear to Bluegrass Festival, a soulful melody of green, yellow, and white with turquoise.
June: Another blend of Blue-Faced Leicester and silk (85/15), Turtle Love was a vibrant green with touches of watery blue.
July: Back to brights, Frozen Fruit Brain Cramp was inspired by summer-time treats with reds, oranges and yellow-greens on an icy white in 100% Merino.
August: Spa Day was a soothing Falkland Merino with calm gray-blues and stone browns.
September: Paying tribute to Neil Armstrong's historic steps, Moon Walk mixed the brown-gray of the moon with the red and blue of the American flag, all in 100% English Shetland.
October: Inspired by all of the colors of the season, Fall Harvest was a Merino-type South African wool in autumnal oranges and reds.
November: A 60/30/10 blend of superwash Merino, viscose bamboo and nylon, the dark blues and leafy greens inspired the artistic name, Vincent's Irises, of this month's colorway.
December: Home Fires Burning closed out the year, a Brown Merino over-dyed with warm reds, golds, and turquoise.

2013 is sure to bring at least a dozen gorgeous new colorways, each of which will be available in-store as well as online. There are still a few braids from 2012 still available. You can also join the conversation on Ravelry and let Susan know what colors you'd like to see.
