Year of the horse Lunar New Year celebration at Disney's California Adventure

Ring in the Year of the Horse with the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney's California Adventure beginning January 31, 2014. This event features festivities in the Paradise Gardens area from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through February 2, 2014. There will also be exclusive merchandise related to this event.

As part of the Lunar New Year celebration, Disney's California Adventure will have some festive decor. This is includes ornamental lanterns as well as Happy Lunar New Year banners and signs in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

Entertainment that will be part of the Lunar New Year celebration include performances by a Chinese dragon dance troupe, lion dancers, and Vietnamese and Korean dance groups. There will also be special character meeting opportunities with Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Mulan, and Mushu. Additionally, guests will be able to make paper lanterns and write wishes of good fortune and happiness to friends and family.

Special merchandise for the Lunar New Year celebration feature artwork with Mickey and Donald with a horse and say Lunar New Year 2014. The design will be featured on t-shirts as well as red envelopes.
