There was no stopping Russia’s Anna Yanovskaya and Sergey Mozgov from claiming the gold in ice dance at the Winter Youth Olympic Games. They outclassed the rest of the field in the short dance two days ago and did the same in the free dance today to capture Russia’s first gold medal in figure skating at the Games.

Leading by just under three points going into the free dance, Yanovskaya and Mozgov extended their lead and won the gold by over 15 points. Ukraine’s Aleksandra Nazarova and Maxim Nikitin took the silver. Russia made it two teams on the podium with Maria Simonova and Dmitri Dragun winning the bronze.
Americans Rachel Parsons and Michael Parsons finished in fourth.
The gold and bronze for Russia gives the Russian team a total of five figure skating medals in the inaugural Winter Youth Games.
