Yale football fans are in for a treat this season, as the Bulldogs will have expanded their presence on the airwaves throughout most of the state. The complete 10-game schedule of Yale football, starting with the Sept. 21 opener at Colgate, will be broadcast on ESPN Radio (1300 AM). Fans with smartphones can also follow the Bulldogs on ESPN Radio's feed on iHeart Radio, as well as on espnradio1300.com. Select games also will be broadcast simultaneously on WELI (960 AM). WELI's schedule will be finalized in early fall.
In addition, this season will mark the debut of the Yale Radio Network, consisting of WDRC (1360 AM; 102.9 HD-3 FM) in Hartford, WMMW (1470 AM) in Meriden, WWCO (1240 AM) in Waterbury, and WSNG (610 AM) in Torrington. Ron Vaccaro (play-by-play) and legendary former Yale head coach Carm Cozza (color) will call all the action.
Cozza, who will be calling Bulldog football for the 16th year, is the career victory leader among Ivy League coaches and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He coached at Yale for 32 seasons, leading the Bulldogs to 10 Ivy League titles.
Vaccaro, a 2004 Yale graduate, has been covering the Bulldogs since his freshman year.
