Hall injured his knee in the second period of the Oilers' 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday and will be out of the lineup for the next month according to Oilers' general manager Craig MacTavish. Hall has had an injury-filled career that has included a concussion, hamstring, shoulder injury and ankle injury.
So far this season, Hall was the Oilers co-leader in points with Calgary-raised Jordan Eberle and rookie Mark Arcobello.
Ironically Yakupov, who was benched last week by Oilers' head coach Dallas Eakins, will now move to the Oilers top line with Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
The Oilers also reported that Banff, Alberta native Ryan Smyth is out one week with a groin injury. Enforcer Ben Eager and rookie Tyler Pitlick have been recalled from the Oilers' American Hockey League affiliate in Oklahoma City.
The Oilers are currently sitting in last place in the Western Conference with a record of two wins, six losses and one overtime loss for five points. The Oilers lost 4-1 to Montreal on October 10.
